Big Awesome is a dynamic event/party band based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, fronted by husband-and-wife team Doug Towle and Andrea Shannon. Known for their genre-blending style dubbed “West Coast Soul,” they seamlessly fuse elements of funk, R&B, rock, and soul into a high-energy, crowd-pleasing experience.  

Doug Towle, one of Canada’s premier guitarists, has earned recognition from Guitar Player Magazine and has performed extensively across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. His gritty, expressive guitar work and husky baritone vocals provide a rich foundation for the duo’s sound. Andrea Shannon complements this with her sweet, soulful voice, creating a captivating vocal harmony that defines Big Awesome’s signature style.
